Environment &
Improving
the overall quality of life.
The Blue Water Foundation (BWF) brings together human and technical resources to address environmental, social and ` developmental challenges faced by communities worldwide, particularly the poorest and most marginalised communities. Our Foundation places a strong emphasis on investing in human potential, expanding opportunities, building a better environment and improving the overall quality of life.
Blue Water Foundation works in 4 countries and operates 3 programs, mainly within the developing world and within post-conflict regions.
Our activities can be classified into two major categories, namely non-profit development which encompasses Health, Culture and Education and Environmental.
Our Foundation was founded based on the premise that people everywhere, regardless of identity or circumstances, should have the chance to live a healthy, productive life with access to essentials such as food, clean water, housing and education.
We are working toward building a world that is more diverse, equitable, and inclusive for everybody.
To bring about the kinds of changes that will help people live healthier, more productive lives and build a better environment, we seek to understand the issues facing the communities, societies and the environment.
Following that, we look into how we can achieve our goal of improving lives and the environment by making investments.
The ways in which we invest in communities and the environment include :
From fighting poverty to health, to education, our areas of focus offer the opportunity to dramatically improve the quality of life for the communities we serve. We build partnerships that bring together resources, expertise, and vision. We work with the best and brightest around the globe to identify issues, find answers, drive change and improve lives.
Blue Water Foundation takes a broad, long-term approach to health that addresses some of the chronic health issues in communities. We work to deliver healthcare services directly to communities by operating non-profit healthcare systems in the communities which we serve. We also work to transform healthcare systems by training thousands of nurses, midwives, pharmacists and doctors. We operate community health projects, often in conjunction with rural development programmes, in some of the poorest and most remote areas of the planet.
A significant part of the world’s cultural heritage is at risk, particularly in areas of conflict and unrest.
Blue Water Foundation works to integrate culture with more traditional instruments of development to improve lives in urban, poor and even remote contexts.
In this aspect, Blue Water Foundation looks to integrate tourism and other commercial practices with culture to provide employment, raise incomes and even improve health and enhance the environment.
As environmental degradation and climate change have had a growing impact on the communities that we serve, protecting the environment and mitigating climate change, as well as helping populations adapt to the effects of climate change, has taken on increased urgency and importance.
In this aspect, Blue Water Foundation funds initiatives that use science to understand the environmental challenges faced by communities and work to find ways to protect wildlife, clean up pollution and restore balance to ecosystems.
Blue Water Foundation seeks to ensure that children and young people are equipped with the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to help them interact effectively with the world and be contributing members of their communities.
To achieve our goal, we work hard to ensure that students of all ages have access to learning opportunities. We fund programmes and institutions that span the educational ladder, from primary and secondary schools to vocational studies and skill training for youth.
While it is important to us to be available to our partners, potential grantees, and the public, due to the large number of emails received, we may be unable to respond directly to your inquiry.
